Vitebsk branch of BelCCI partners with chambers from St. Petersburg, Kursk Oblast
The Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) has signed cooperation agreements with the Saint Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kursk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, BelTA learned from BelCCI Director General Natalia Vorobyova.
The signing ceremony took place following the session of the national business councils arranged by the Belarusian and Russian chambers of commerce and industry on the sidelines of the 6th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Saint Petersburg.
The parties agreed to cooperate in helping local companies find partners, in arranging business missions, preparing meetings and holding talks. The agreements provide for arranging joint business and educational events, exhibitions and fairs and as well as helping members of the chambers establish and expand commodity distribution networks.
In line with the agreement, information exchange and consultations will be in focus at the initial stage of cooperation. The partners will also share expertise and knowledge to be able to better understand the needs of the partner organizations, Natalia Vorobyova said. The first steps in this direction were made at a meeting with Lenta, one of Russia's biggest retailers. The meeting was held at the Saint Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In line with an agreement reached, the Vitebsk branch of the BelCCI will compile a list of Vitebsk manufacturers who would like to sell their products via supermarkets of the Lenta retain chain, while the Russian partner will work out possible forms of cooperation. Such contacts help make cooperation easier and more efficient, Natalia Vorobyova emphasized. Apart from that, the parties discussed a possibility for a business delegation from Saint Petersburg to take part in the Belarusian Industrial and Investment Forum in September 2019. A business mission to Vitebsk Oblast might be organized during the forum.
The Saint Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the oldest and one of the biggest business associations of Russia with over 4,500 members. The Kursk Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1994. The chamber cooperates with about 600 companies of Kursk Oblast.
The Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has over 160 members accounting for nearly 95% of industrial output and about 90% of export of the region. The organization has cooperation agreements with chambers of commerce and industry from 33 Russian regions, including Moscow and Moscow Oblast.
